Portrait Drawing

1. Explain the process you went through to develop your drawing.
First I selected my person which was Alex.  I then used trace paper to make the value shapes.  Afterwards I printed it into my sketchbook.  I used the values to sketch my person.
2. Explain how you found the different values in the portrait?
The picture was printed in black and white.  you can easily find all of the values from that.  I then just found the darks and the lights of the picture.
3.  Did you achieve a full range of the different values within your portrait?  How?
I do believe I achevied a full range of values in my portrait.  I did this by holding the picture up to the light so you can make a clear distion of values.
4. Describe your craftsmanship.  Is the artwork executed and crafted neatly?
I believe the artwork was executed the right way and neatly. 
5. List any obstacles you had to overcome and how you dealt with them.
I had to overcome the difficutlies of alpplying the right amount of preasures for my values.

Values Lesson

1. Describe your overall thoughts on the final piece.
     I thought the final piece on the values shading was fairly good.  I thought i could have blended the colors better and make them a little larger.
2. If this was a group project, what was your contribution?
     This was an indivisual project.
3. How successful do you feel this piece is and why?
     I think the piece was successful for my level.  I think this because I did the best i could.
4. What worked about this project? What didn’t work?
      The values worked really well in my opinion for this projectl.  I believe that the blending didn't work as well as it could of for this project.

5. If you were to do this project over again, what changes would you consider making?
     I would consider changing the size of my drawings and the blending inbetween values.

6. What was the most difficult part about completing this piece and why?
      The hardest part of this project was not smudging the colors.
7. What did you learn from this piece?
      I learned from this piece the importance of values to make a piece of art come to life.
